It is the hope of the
JMS Guidance Department to
assist the students and parents of our middle school through this dynamic
and transitional period in each adolescent’s life. Numerous academic, social, and emotional issues begin
to emerge during these important teen years.
As your school counselors and graduation coach, we want to assist each family in
addressing the “whole child” in their personal and unique process of
becoming a young adult. Please
communicate any problems, concerns, or questions you may have about your
child’s status here at JMS. We offer a variety of services to our students and families
such as individual sessions, classroom guidance, and groups for specific
student needs as well as parent conferences to discuss family issues. If concerns extend beyond what
we feel comfortable or
professionally suited to deal with at the school level, then outside
referrals to community agencies and professionals will be made. Sometimes, students just need a supportive, neutral, and confidential arena to verbalize what is going on with them. We want our Guidance Department to be that place for your middle school student. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any area you have questions about at 706-367-2882, Ext. 113. |
